Tara Costa gets Sued for Gaining Weight

It was only yesterday that we were talking about Chris Pratt's body transformation.  Well today, we have another name that made the headlines in the past due to her simply stunning body transformation that got her to the finals at the popular reality show The Biggest Loser. Yes, it is none other than Tara Costa!  Do you remember her?

Now that you have put a face and body to the name you will know who they are talking about when you read headlines like "Tara Costa, Biggest Loser Star, Sued for Alleged Weight Gain" or "Biggest Loser" Finalist Tara Costa Sued Over Weight".  It looks like Tara is being sued by FC Online Marketing Inc due to her violating the business agreement that she had signed with the company by gaining too much weight.

Tara appeared in “The Biggest Loser: Couples 2” and by shedding a total of 155 pounds by the end of the show,  she turned into a role model and a great marketing strategy for any fitness company that would lay their eyes on her.

The lawsuit was filed in a U.S District Court in Florida stating that Tara had unfortunately put on a bit too many pounds to represent the company by making personal appearances on their behalf.

In the agreement that Costa had signed with FC Online Marketing Inc it clearly stated that she would not be able to gain any weight and that she actually had to maintain the level of fitness she had at the time when the agreement was settled.  The agreement demanded that while it was time valid, she had to stay fit and keep up the conditioning lifestyle that she was carrying at that moment.

Michael Parrella, the CEO of FC Online Marketing released the following statements to the media:

"She came on at a certain weight. We had a fitness clause. She was in material breach after she gained, in my opinion, about 45 pounds,"

"She was supposed to visit 15 of our franchise locations, but we weren't able to send her anywhere because she gained a lot of weight"

To make things worse for Tara Costa the lawsuit is also accusing her of signing an agreement with a company considered by FC Online Marketing's as competitors. This again was a violation to their agreement.

Tara's lawyer disregarded the company's reasons for the lawsuit saying that it "a worthless disguise intended to cover-up its own wrongdoing" and that his client would be countersuing with her own accusations.

"This case has absolutely nothing to do with Ms. Costa’s weight and everything to do with FC Online’s breach of an appearance contract, along with their exploitation of Ms. Costa’s name and image without compensation on a website that promoted their commercial services," he told TODAY.com.

This once again is an example of how difficult and frustrating it is to be in the public eye.  So yes, it is true that Tara agreed to keep her fitness weight and put her signature on it, however weight gain can come about for so many reasons.  Although there are so many options that will help you stay healthy and fit such as fitness supplies, exercise programs, nutrition supplements or just your average gym, for many people it can get much more complicated than that.

Weight gain can happen for many reasons besides just sitting on your behind eating all day and not being active.  There are psychiatric medications that will make a patient gain weight as a commons side effect.  It can also come about due to pathological causes and even genetic reasons.  Depression and anxiety can also lead to weight gain.

Although the media just wants to make the headlines and turn their heads to other possibilities, we truly hope Tara is not going through any of the mentioned above and that as the trooper that she showed to be back then on The Biggest Loser, this time will not be any different.
