Jeanne Cooper's Health Collapses
Jeanne Cooper, the 84-year-old actress who has been portraying Katherine Chancellor on soap opera "The Young and the Restless" for almost 40 years had to be hospitalized due to an concealed illness. CBS Los Angeles reported on the soap opera star's condition last Saturday and stated that she was in critical condition. She has the best doctors, nurses and all the medical supplies she needs at this time to cope with her illness. At the same time Corbin Bernsen, Cooper's son, has been updating his twitter account informing his followers and fans how his mom is doing but not without asking for support and prayers for her.
On April 12, Corbin tweeted "Need some prayers for my mom tonight. Not doing great. I don't believe it is the end of her journey, but still a very uphill battle." Then on Saturday April 13th his tweet update read, "All still stable this morning with mom, such a fighter. So many have noted that. Your prayers are powerful and kind words overwhelming." Later that same day he added "Long day at hospital. Mom is resting fine and progressing. Oddly a profound, life-affirming day. You were all in the room with us, your power."
Jeanne Cooper has had a notable acting career. She first started on The Young and the Restless back in November 1973. Cooper was married to Harry Bernsen, Jr. He was a TV producer who passed away in May 2008. Together they had three children who all became actors: Corbin, Collin and Caren. She was nominated 10 times for a Daytime Emmy awards and earned 2 of those nominations. She was also nominated to two Primetime Emmys.
Sunday brought much hope to the "The Young and the Restless" fans and to Coopers' family as Corbin tweeted "Not much change for mom but heading in the right direction," Embracing small steps and signs toward recovery. Wow!"
