Biofreeze Relieves Arthritic Pain

Biofreeze is a multi-purpose, topical gel that can alleviate anything from sprains and strains to back and neck pain, and pretty much anything else in between. However, it was originally introduced in 1991 with a single objective. The person who developed it did it in order to aid his grandmother in relieving the pain that her arthritis caused her. This is no small feat, given that arthritis is one of the most deteriorating diseases that human beings can ever experiencing. It usually produces excruciating pain, so much so that it can completely disrupt your entire life. Nowadays, many people’s grandmothers are able to find a quantum of solace thanks to Biofreeze.

Arthritis can rear its ugly head in many forms, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, septic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and Still’s disease. Other conditions where arthritis may be a secondary element are hepatitis, Lyme disease, sarcoidosis, and others. However, there is one common trait that all arthritis sufferers would agree on, and that is the overwhelming joint pain they have to endure. Other symptoms are inflammation, stiffness, inability to use their hands or to walk, a general feeling of ill-being, loss of weight, poor sleep, muscle pain, tenderness, and trouble moving the joint.
The three major types of arthritis are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and gouty arthritis. Between the three of them they attack knee, hip, and vertebral column joints, hands, wrists, ankles, and elbows. More often than not, they provoke swelling, narrowed joint space, osteophytes, local osteosclerosis, subchondral cysts, and bone erosion. Their onset may take from weeks to months, or hours for an attack in the case of gouty arthritis, and be brought about by trauma, infection, autoimmune diseases, and aging. It isn’t difficult to imagine that all of this results in an inferior quality of life.
As it turns out, Biofreeze is able to soothe the joint pain caused by arthritis. The gel is applied to the aching area. Application should be enough; it’s not required to massage the area, also refrain from using it more than 4 times a day. Biofreeze is not a cure but it isn’t a placebo either. It is an analgesic, and its active ingredient menthol is absorbed through the skin to block pain signals on their way to the brain. Biofreeze offers only temporary relief from arthritic pain, but as any person who is ailed by this condition, even a transitory reprieve is more than welcome.
