This product comes in a hard carrying case that measures 7¼ x 4½ x 1½ inches and weighs 1.07 lbs. the handheld, battery-powered ophthalmoscope contains illuminating and viewing optics that allow doctors to examine the media (cornea, aqueous, lens, and vitreous), the retina, blood vessels, optic nerve, and other eye structures. The handheld, battery-powered otoscope features a magnifying system that illuminates the ear canal and tympanic membrane.


These devices are not to be used in patients who have already been exposed to extended or intense light, in particular children, aphakes, or individuals with eye conditions. Excessive light exposure may cause injury.


An ocular examination device should not be used longer or at a brighter setting than necessary to avoid damage to the patient’s retina. No acute optical radiation hazards have been associated with direct or indirect ophthalmoscopes; however, it is recommended that the intensity of the light directed into the eye be restricted to the minimum necessary for diagnosis.

Parts and assembly



Rotate the threaded connection clockwise to attach and counterclockwise to remove.

Viewing lens

Turn lens bezel clockwise to lift up and counterclockwise to reposition.

Disposable specula

Push flanged end onto chrome socket and twist counterclockwise to engage and clockwise to remove.


Aperture selection

Rotate aperture selection wheel at the front of the instrument head.

Lens selection

Rotate lens selection wheel at either side of the instrument head.

Turn on/off

Slide switch on the battery handle pocket clipaway from the instrument head to turn on. Slide in the opposite direction to turn off.

Replacing lamp

Turn counterclockwise to remove instrument head. Grab the end of the lamp from the inside base and remove.
